The story of Westlake Urgent Care Clinic is filled with struggles and a fight to serve a community that has been overlooked and underserved for far too long. After Westlake Community Hospital was forced to close down in 2019, a team of doctors, nurses, and medical professionals fought to keep the hospital open. Without a community-focused hospital, Melrose Park and the surrounding areas wouldn't have fast, accessible healthcare. When the hospital finally shut its doors, many doctors and primary physicians moved out of area, leaving behind an entire community without immediate aid.
On February 22nd, 2021, a group of healthcare providers banded together and opened Westlake Urgent Care Nonprofit (NFP).
Serving the community and providing emergency care to Melrose Park, Maywood, Broadview, Bellwood, and other surrounding areas.
